One More Thing

Like always there have been so many leaks and rumors shared by “leakers” and other tech news sources leading up to the event. Also like always some hold more truth and potential than other. This time around a majority of the leaks are surrounding one thing in particular, Apple Silicon. Disclaimers: These are all rumors and general thoughts that I am presenting, I have no inside knowledge and none of my opinions should serve as “leaks”.

Apple Silicon

Apple Silicon was originally announced by Tim Cook back in June during WWDC, from that time we knew that Apple planned to begin transitioning all Macs away from Intel processors over the next two years and we were told by Tim Cook that he expects the first Apple Silicon Macs to ship by the end of 2020. Assuming that the timeline that was presented in June still holds true today, that gives a good chance that we will see some sort of Apple Silicon device at the event. Apple leaker L0vetodream who tweeted “13 inch X 2” last week,

is hinting at possibly 2 13 inch Macbook’s to be announced this week. I assume that one will be a pro model and one will be an air model, but I do not have information to support that.

Other Possibilities

While I am to believe the main priority of this event is to get the ball rolling on the Apple Silicon transition I am optimistic that we could see a little more from the event. MacOS 11 Big Sur is undoubtably going to be discussed at the event. I expect release date sometime in the coming weeks if not the day of the event, based on the fact that the MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1 Release Candidate is already in the hands of developers who take advantage of the developer beta that Apple offers.

There are also a number of products that have been rumors for a while that we could possibly seen thrown into the event included the “Airpods Studio” headphones that have been leaked for a while and the Tile competitor “Airtags” which has also been rumored for quite some time. I believe that those are less likely to happen however.

One other thing that we could see at the Apple event is TestFlight for Mac. According to an article from 9to5Mac, source The Verifier reports that Apple’s app testing platform TestFlight will be coming to Mac. Which could be very beneficial for app developers with the Big Sur update and Apple Silicon device support. But, the Apple rumor tracking website AppleTrack only gives The Verifier a 51.9% rumor accuracy, so will have to wait and see about TestFlight on Mac.

The Event

The event itself is set to be held on November 10th 2020 at 1pm EST. The event will be a video presentation from Apple Park. The event can be view from Apples website as well as YouTube.
